So as some of you know I purchased a 2002 F4i just over a month ago with 5k miles on it.
I plan on winterizing it in a week or 2...hopefully it will be warm enough to ride this weekend. This is my first bike so i have never done an oil change on a bike before. I have read up on how to though so I think I'll be good.
Anyways, I am wondering if anyone knows a place in Mass that sells honda oil and filters for a reasonable price?
What do those with f4i's use for oil and filters?
better off just getting a K&N oil filter. pick up an oil 7 filter kit from Ted at DuncanMoto (site sponsor) over in Watertown.

Oil?
Fuck that, and fuck you.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
If you haven't done it yet - take the filter with you to an auto parts store and get the end cap style wrench.

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
Honda HP4 synthetic $7.49/qt, crush washer $0.50 and genuine honda oil filter $9.99 from Boston Moto.

The commercialism on this site is comical.
OEM filter, semi-synthetic (for a winter change, use something cheap, since you should dump it out in the spring anyway), don't forget the crush washer, as Degsy mentioned.
A good tip is to wrap the headers with aluminum foil where they would get oil dripped on them when removing the filter. If you're careful, you can eliminate getting oil on them completely.
aren't these the bikes where the oil filter is a pain to get at?
I would say to also go with the K&N. Makes it much easier to take off the next time with the filter nut on the end of the filter. And just use a full synthetic. I am cheap so I go with the Rotella full syn that you can get at walmart. You can find threads on it if you use the search function.

Before you do the oil change, put some stablizer in it and run it for 5-10 min. Change the oil and do not start it until next spring. Oh you should wash her up too.![]()
