Yep, coolant overflow hose. Now, make sure and position the other end so coolant can drip out *away* from your rear wheel. I have mine coming down the back of my fender.

I mention this because I overfilled my coolant a few weeks ago, and the hose for whatever reason was not positioned thusly. I was riding down the road and as I came to a stop noticed my back tire felt a little squirrely. Stopped to check it out and found the tire was slick with 50/50. Coulda caused some serious problems in a traction-critical scenario...

Honcl, sounds alot like something that happened to a guy with a YZF750. The dealer (NH coast not sure which one) changed the oil, he was riding on a rotary and the bike did the funky chicken- oil on the back tire. Apparently they didn't tighten the oil filter

The only "intuitive" interface is the nipple.

Yeah, I can't say I've ever heard of a YZF750 either. But then, I'd never heard of a R7 until recently. Maybe it's similar - low production, nonexistent marketing, you have to hunt them down. I dunno, Yamaha seems almost ashamed to admit they're ever produced a 750 class sportbike...

The YZF750 was the successor to the FZR750R/OW01. I think they brought some in starting with '94 models. Price mighta been kinda high (though nowhere near the RC45) as I haven't seen too many either. Jamie James used to ride one in Superbike, and the FUSA guys used to put FZR1000 engines in them. The R7 was the successor to the YZF.

Ahh, and the mystery is solved. You seem to know your Yamahas, Jim. Are you a Yammy rider, or just a fountain of motorcycle knowledge? Either way, welcome. Feel free to mosey over here and tell us a bit about yourself if you get a chance.

Taylor, allright, yours was funnier. But I did get a chuckle over the mental image of a bunch of Yamaha engineers commiting ritual suicide because their 750 couldn't beat the gixxer in the twisties, while marketing hid their faces in shame and wrote "Honduzaki" in black magic marker over the Yamaha logo
