Need a good place to set up my suspension

The thread title says most of it, I'm running the stock suspension on my Daytona 675 and I'm looking to get it setup for my weight. I'm not on the track yet, and I don't have many complaints, but I've never been on a bike thats been properly setup.

Any suggestions for where I could get this done in southern NH or northeastern MA? Nashua / Manchester / Porstmouth / Lowell area would be ideal, but I don't mind traveling a bit.

    Thanks.

Need a good place to set up my suspension

It's too bad we don't have a sub forum here for suspension questions

Wouldn't it be great if we also had and active participating member who was a suspension guru?

If you don't want to trek to his shop in Bellingham, MA, then try to get up to the track when he's there and talk to him.

Need a good place to set up my suspension

Just wondering if there was anybody else a bit more local than 67 miles who knows how to set up a suspension, hence the very specific variety of larger cities listed. Must be only one shop in New England though, thanks for the insight.

Didn't think popping into his forum asking asking where else I could get it done would be appropriate, thanks for giving me the 'you're an idiot card' though. Maybe I'll drop a thread in there so someone else can hand me the 'you're an asshole card' too.

Not the only place in new england, There's GMD in New york too.

If you want it done right, go to the right people.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

If you just want clicks and turns show up and check out a trackday, Peter is at most of them adjusting suspensions.

Did you try Suspensions R Us in Nashua? Yeah, me either. Probably because they don't exist. Maybe you should check out The Suspension Superstore over in portsmouth.

The dealerships/mechanics won't fiddle with suspension due to liability. It's a niche market. There aren't any "suspension experts" in new hampshire, because, well, because it's fucking new hampshire. Go down to GMD or find someone you trust to fool around with them for you.

Thank you, those are the responses I was looking for, not backhanded sarcastic ones assuming I'm a fucktard. If there isn't a bike shop in the area that will do it then there isn't. I haven't heard of any myself, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, so I figured I'd ask.

    GMD

Greg, I was at Tuesday's track day and Peter Kates adjusted mine (no charge even though I offered) and gave his opinion on what I might want to consider suspension wise in the future (that would be a suspension on a different bike..) Being a complete dolt when it comes to suspensions I was amazed what he can tell by pushing down on a bike a couple of times. You can ride right into a track day and cruise into the pits, he was very accommodating.

Welcome to NESR. Take newbie hazing like a champ & we might like you.... bitch about it & we'll point, laugh & pick on you more.

If you do end up planning on getting on the track, Peter Kates attends most track days at NHIS and he can adjust your clicker settings for you on site free of charge (accepts donations to the LRRS Injured Rider's fund).

If you can't wait till then PM TLRMan. He's a little closer (Beverly MA) and he can help ya out too.

Sarcarsm runs rampant here... that's just how it is.

The last sentence of my first post addresses your concern... and I'll repeat it... along with others.

Stop by the track some weekend when he's there. He will help you setup your stock suspension. If that's not enough, then he'll be more than happy to help you sort out what additions would be most beneficial.

Just do it right from the beginning though... don't try to hodgepodge something together just because you may have read that some fool was able to fit a GSXR front end to your bike and made it work.

    Was that sarcasm free enough?

Need a good place to set up my suspension

Sorry. Rough afternoon is the best excuse I have for you as far as being a bitch about it. The track is just under an hour and I should be able to get to his shop in an hour and a 1/2. Right now I'm not looking to put a new suspension in it, just get the stock one dialed in the best it can be. I'm not at the level where I would get $700-1200 worth of benifit out of a new shock and redoing the forks. Thanks again.

Oh, Jesse at Seacoast Sport Cycle is very capable of taking a quick look at it and making the proper adjustments. He's in Derry, NH. If he gives you a hard time....tell him I sent you. Wait, that might make it worse.

    Sarcastic? Me? Noooooooo.

If you want to take a cruise down to Peter's shop sometime I might be up for slabbing it down there with you. There's a GREAT restaurant right near his shop that I haven't been too for way too long. I live in londonderry, the ride is just over an hour without traffic.
