    Painting/polishing wheels?

The paint on my wheels is starting to peel in some places. I am considering stripping all the paint and polishing them over the winter. Has anyone done this before or know how hard it is to do? I'm also kicking around the idea of getting them chrome plated, or to paint them white again. Should I bother with the work this will take or should I use this opportunity to buy some nice aftermarket wheels?

    Painting/polishing wheels?

I have polished a set of wheels and painted many. I can guarantee I will never polish a set again. It is a lot of sanding mostly by hand. I would maybe just polish the lips as a compromise if you are going for that look. Most of the lips are already machined and easy to polish. Also the polished wheels will never look as good as the day they were completed, just a maintenance nightmare.

    Painting/polishing wheels?

Thanks for the input. That's basically what I was trying to find out. The wheels are starting to peel pretty bad in some places and it just looks like crap so I have to do something over the winter. I'm thinking either have them chrome plated or get some nice aftermarket wheels.

dude, those are the two most expensive options... you can get em powdercoated for so much less than chroming or aftermarkets.

True. I'm not too crazy about chrome anyways. I suppose I could get 'em powdercoated white again but it's so hard to keep looking clean. Perhaps a blue...
