We have the same pump bubs has, works great. I've found the gauge to be pretty accurate.

Intended use? What is it that you're looking for? Hand pump? Foot pump? Electric pump? Air Compressor?

Re: What are people using for pumping air at home?

The use is just to check the tire pressure and add more air when needed.
I used a foot pump until it broke and electric pump that plugs into the car's cigarette lighter - it produced way more noise than air.
I think I like bubba's suggestion the most, length of the hose is a +.

    Doesn't require power.
    Doesn't make very much noise.
    Very light.
Few have any desire to steal it.
Goes to like 100psi. (Albeit slowly.)
Well rated on Amazon. Ships with prime. (At least it did when I bought it.)
Works on bicycles too, in a pinch.

For your purposes, yeah. I'd go that route.

I scored a smokin deal on a (free) brand new 4gal Huskey compressor. The thing's friggin awesome, but probably overkill for your intended uses... unless you like filling tires really fast. Then it's perfect.

along with my compressor, I have 150 feet of hose total, a shorter 50ft hose and longer 100ft hose, this allose me to put air in a car tire where ever the car is parked in my yard without moving the compressor and getting out my heavy ass 10/2 100ft extension cord

I learned the hard way about running high amperage electric motors with too light of an extension cord

I have the 8 gallon 125 psi compressor from HF. Currently on Super Coupon sale @ $99. I found it a good value at $129.

Late to the post, but I have this as well. It's light enough to carry to use a finish nailer in an upstairs bedroom but big enough for light use of most-air powered tools in he garage.

I pretty much only use a 25' coiled hose nowadays. The compressor is on wheels, so I'll fill it in the garage, then wheel it out to the driveway to fill the car tires. I find that way more convenient than having to deal with coiling up a 50' hose when I'm done with it.

The contractor putting up siding on our house is using one just like it for a nailer. He's had it almost three years. Pretty good for the money.

Re: What are people using for pumping air at home?

I just bought a Lezyne pump for my bikes. It actually screws onto the valve stem -- works awesome. I had a Specialized pump for years that I finally broke (should have done a little preventative maintenance on it and I'd probably still have it), then bought a Park Tools one. The Park tools one SUCKED. I broke at least 3 presta valves with that pump.

That's what I bought it for. My tandem tires need 130 PSI and My compressors kick off at 125.

I've always had plans to melt down a bunch of aluminum cans I find along the roads and make my own air compressor.

I have one of those Joe Blow pumps and have used it for years. They seem to hold up pretty well.
