No-Mar JR pro tire mount floor base.

Hey I just ordered the No-Mar JR pro. Do you think I should buy a thick diamond plate steel base or make one from plywood? I was going to anchor it to my garage floor but I have limited space and need to move it around when I need too.

Ive been looking at one of these and my thought was to mount it to a piece of 2 inch tubing and use it in my receiver hitch.

I mounted my HF one on a large pallet. It unbolts and pallet gets leaned up against a wall when I'm not using it.

If you anchor it to the floor correctly then remove 4 bolts and it's gone. Your shields will still be there for remounting when your ready. You can get plastic plugs to keep the shields clean when the base is dismounted.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Thelglu: Was the pallet stable enough?

Sedanman: I don't have a hitch on any of my cars so that won't work but good idea. I order the rolled on base plate but that's only for the warm weather install out side.

Rosco61: I might try this option.

Yes. As long as you stand on it when using it, it sure is. Only time I ever needed someone else to stand on it for stability was when I was mounting my truck tires.

When I first bought mine, I tried to anchor it to a piece of plywood but I found it didn't work that well. If you have some stubborn tires when mounting and removing using the bar, I found the wood wouldn't handle the torque.

Less then 5 minutes with a Hilti hammer drill, proper bit, and some concrete bolts and I was cooking with gas.

If you're looking for a temp mount, I think they still make one that goes in a 2" receiver on a trailer hitch.

I just use two layers of 3/4" scrap subfloor on the pallet.

I got the 2" hitch mount option from no-mar. I then got a 2" wall mount receiver. I can now use my no-mar either on my truck or on my wall in the garage and it's stored when not needed. Works for me!

I did the same thing but as soon as I put a wheel on it the whole thing pulled out of the drywall and crushed into the slop sink, which had been backed up for a week or two, and the collected drain water from the washing machine flooded my basement. I have had mold problems ever since and there are mushrooms growing on the wooden baseboards. My grandmother, never missing an opportunity, harvested the mushrooms and made a great veal marsala, not realizing she was poisoning the whole family with Sunday dinner. It was delicious but I had the runs and cold sweats for 3 days.

In summary, I would buy the trailer hitch mount again, but don't mount it to your wall unless you know you're sinking bolts into studs or you'll have the shits for 3 days.
