R1 Neutral Position Switch?

Having a bit of an issue with the R1, and dont know where to start....

The neutral light never comes on, even if the bike is actually in neutral. As a result, the clutch always has to be in to start, which is kinda a pain in the ass.

Is there some kind of external sensor for the neutral position? Anyon know where it might bo located? Or, is my worst fear a reality, and is the sensor located inside the transmission somewhere?

The bike is an 01.

Where did you get your manual? I think I might need to get one.....
