Epoxy, urethane, and silicone are all common potting compounds. Each type has their advantages and drawbacks. Silicone has a very large usable temperature range and stays soft and rubbery at very cold temperatures (like those that an automobile may experience). By staying soft and pliable, less stress is put on the electronics.

If you feel like you might want assistance, feel free to hit me up, mail your shit and have it back in a few days.

I have access to many types of electronic assembly goodies, conformal coatings and know how to really solder....like with real soldering equipment and good solder joints.

Just throwing the option out there.

And that DIY repair seems awesome, good luck, hopefully that'll be the fix.
yeah, you said cdi and I pictured ecu, and didnt think that was it, since it had zero other electrical problems other than no spark.

I got ONE response on speedzilla that said it was probably the cdi lol

its not definitely it yet though....

MUCH appreciated, it is a great community here!

I have plenty of experience soldering so that wont be a problem though.

    step ONE

1.Dig the silicone material in the yellow area. Be very careful not to harm surface mounded resistor nearby. Remove the screws and the metal plate that holds the transistors.

I knocked off the SMT resistor lol

    I found it though, luckily.

Lies, it was the battery, now you're just going to confuse others.
