If anybody is around southern RI and needs tires mounted, I can mount and balance at my house. Usually charge $30 for 1, $50 for 2. Send me a PM.

Up here in Burlington VT anyone know of a place to get tires mounted for cheap? *note tires are still on the bike but can be removed if need be* Just sick and tired of paying a shop to do it and it costing $150+

Re: Read Here For Tire Changing!!!

I'd highly recommend removing your wheels ahead of time. For instance, I charge $50 if you bring me the bike with the wheels on, or $15 a wheel if you bring me the wheels.

That said, I'm in Manchester, CT... far, far away from you. I do believe there is a member in Burlington with a NoMar, though... not sure if he does other wheels or not.

Roger I guess I will just have to wait and see if someone posts with info about someone in Burlington or not lol. I wish they charged $15 lol that would be amazing like I brought a shop my tires with them off the bike still cost me 167 for both tires like fuck me!! hahaa

You guys should look who is close to you. Then find a guy with a garage and split a nomar tire machine 3 or 4 or more ways. Tire changing problem solved. Cheaper for everyone in the long run. Could be some issues with timing. But you can get used ones sometimes for 500 bucks and about a grand for a new one.

Re: Read Here For Tire Changing!!!

Got a flyer from harbor freight

They have a number of small tank air compressors starting at $40

    Tire iron for $6

The tank is needed to set the bead other than that 2 tire irons and you in business

So for about $70 total your good

I mar my rims but can get a tire swapped in less time then driving to the dealer

I do the same thing. I just use 4 Tusk rim protectors and I don't get wheel damage on anything I care about.

Re: Read Here For Tire Changing!!!

I'm going to take the plunge into changing my own on this 2000 VFR I recently picked up.

Rear is on the way, front is very recent.

Demounting / mounting should not be an issue. I have a compressor and clamps big enough to break the old bead if needed.

My concern is balancing, and doing so with the single sided swingarm type rim.

    Thoughts?

Need the static balancing stand, spoke or sticky weights, and adapter for that wheel.

Or swing by any trackday or LRRS race. We'll balance it for free at Pirelli garage (we have the single sided adapters)

Planning on a HF stand, weights are easy.

The adapter is harder, may have to be ordered and if it doubles the price if the setup it starts to make sense to have it done.
