Where can you get the type of gauges for the rear axle that slide into the swingarm pivot and rear axle (if it's a hollow axle) for accurately aligning the rear axle?
All I could find when I searched on motorcycle axle gauge was the type where you measure one side at a time:

Chuck.
Align your sprockets via chain alignment.

Don't do what Ted said. Get the alignment tool from jimmy on WERA. His member name is Phat Chance. I think they cost $90 after shipping now.
Kinda wondered about that. I was always told to align the axle equally with the swingarm pivot on both sides of the bike.
I also remember Degsy having the gauge when he did one of my tire changes a few years back.

Swingarm marks are often off. Kawi's are known to be wrong. I have the same tool Degsy has. If you want to use/borrow mine, lemme know.
XOXO,

I've always done mine with a square! Same deal. http://www.chopperscycle.com/TOOLS-S...-p6880573.html ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Rear-...Q5fAccessories

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Although 2 arms would speed the job up, I'd think you would just move the single tool to each side until you got the measurement identical.
AF1 has the Rhinomoto rear tire alignment tool: http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scrip...idproduct=2845
Also heard good things about the one DBKromz mentioned on WERA; less $ to boot.
Also, here is one from my sponsor and he is also on here as BrendanP......all his stuff is top notch quality...

And I just realized that this route won't work on my track bike, since the 1st gen axles are not hollow.
And, a hollow replacement axle is not available. I guess the tool would just be for the street bikes and I'll have to keep measuring the track bike with a ruler.
Oh well.

How about a set of vernier calipers for $10 at home depot?
How about just come visit me Chuck.
I have a laser chain alignment tool you can borrow instead of buying something you'll use once per year.

If you're going for sprocket alignment, just use your chain. Get the bike on a rearstand and spin the rear tire. If you're lined up the chain will sit dead even on the sprocket wherever it makes contact, equal space between the side plates and teeth on each side. If you're off even a touch, the chain will migrate so the side plates on one side are up against the sprocket.

Looks like 17mm vs 20mm going from 1st to 2nd gen based on bearing numbers?
