    REAR brake recomendation

i need some advice on rear brake pads that will hold up to HARD braking. my stock ons are ok but don't hold nearly the force that i'm looking for.

since i need to replace them i want to get the stopping power of something like a rear disk lock. obviously i can't use a disk lock, but something in that neighborhood of stopping power

    thanks in advance

    REAR brake recomendation

I can lock up my stock rear brakes just fine.

I dont understand peoples fascination with rear brakes, and wanting them to lock up. Thats the LAST thing you want them to do.

Personally, I think sticking it in the rear sprocket would be much more impressive!

    yeah ... umm

TonysTrackDays.com ... we work on braking technique

all kidding aside ... you shouldn't worry about the ability of your rear brake, it has very little effect on your ability to stop the motorcycle. I never, ever touch the rear brake ... never did on the street, never do on the track .. you have to be real careful with that

Dude rear brake is EVIL. Don't use it. I've taught myself to stop using it because it causes more harm then good.

well im not disagreeing but rather questioning if your not supposed to use rear brake why do they press it in msf i never use mine but i thought i was ''stupid'' for not using itthe whole 60 40 ratio if you want to stop quick woudnt you want 100percent braking power

It is not 60/40 on a sport bike ... it is more 90/10 or 95/5

All you have to do is lock it up, go sideways a bit and you are now flying through the air with the greatest of ease ....

    REAR brake recomendation

ok just to clear this up i don't need new rear brakes. hell i don't even use them unless just putting to a stop light

i posted this as a joke because i ran a 1/8th mile on the dyno drags at bike night with the rear brake on (you have to stage by rolling the drum slowly and i forgot to release after i was stagged) so it smoked like crazy and the rotor was blue when i got done.

yes i do know that you can seatall the chassis mid corner with the rear, but im not that good

i figured every one would get it after killbill posted and i replied. but i guess not

don't worry thats only on a dyno. if i launched like i did there on the street i would loop for sure. plus wind, drag, etc. etc. but i bet that is a fair refection of what someone with a clue could turn on my bike
