    yz250 rotor bolts

they are allen key, really shallow, and really soft...

I looked @ my friend's WR250x and his had a pan head which looked deep enough to hold an allen key properly for installation and removal:

made me think - why not (as long as they're the same pitch/thread, and will clear) swap in the WR250x (or other pan head) rotor bolts?

THat second set look like shoulder bolts. Is the shoulder also the right size?

    Re: yz250 rotor bolts

As Paul said, the second set of bolts have a shoulder on them and that will likely not sit correctly in the countersink in the rotor. Looking at the top pic, I'm assuming the original rotor bolts, they look like they are a tapered flat top bolt used with a countersunk hole in the rotor to center the rotor to the holes in the hub.

The main thing that I have run into in these types of situations is that Yamaha probably used the flat top hardware for a reason. Likely to be a clearance issue. My experience with rotor hardware was that any taller bolt head would interfere with the bracket that secured the caliper to the fork lug. Doesn't hurt to check and see if there is more clearance and a different type of more easily removed bolt will fit though. Just make sure the mating surfaces are the same as the factory hardware.
