So many possibilities... PM TLRman, he does mechanic stuff on the side for cheap money. And unlike some other mechanics, he really fuckin knows his shit!

checked the carb adjustment screw not that. thing is it will idle fine until its warmed up then if i rev it it will go to 4000 or so ill let it go and itll climb itself to about6-7000 and stay there.
get full insurance, and since you live in Lynn leave it parked on the street for a little bit. Problem fixed and you get a check coming to you to buy another gixxah.
funny thing is 3 bikes have been stolen from where the gsxr and my ninja are parked right out side my house. i may take the gsxr any way and do the gsxr1000 motor swap.but id still like to have this running.
Hmmm.....
Let me know if you are still at odds..I'm just down the street from you.
Pete! You still have my carb sync tool don't ya?

Did you change out the gas? A long shot, but still a variable.
When you cleaned the carbs - did you take them completely apart and make sure all the internal machined passages are clean, or just take the jets out? And - Are you sure they're back together right, seated in the boots, everything works smoothly?
Is it just revving high, or revving with smoke?
A quick check for air leaks on the intake side - while it's warming up, and at lower rpm's carefully spray a little carb clean (it can eat paint, and is flammable - so be careful) on the intake boots, sides of the carb, etc - and listen for a change in the way the motor runs.
A lot of shops have ultrasonic cleaning tanks - it's usually about $50 or so to drop off the carbs to have them done.

For every action there is an equal but opposite reaction - and sometimes a scar...
Sounds like an air leak. Carb to manifold or carb to airbox.
well i got fedup working on a bike that wasnt mine for free so i sold it for my nephew so its gone and out of my hair
