    RTV for clutch cover gasket

Can I get away with this on my dirt bike? I don't want to wait for the OEM gasket to ship, but I also don't want to get stranded 20 miles into the woods somewhere.

You guys are slacking today. Went with 'Hondabond 4' instead.

I think if its just a cover your fine. Gaskets are sometimes used for spaceing stuff though, so make sure theres no interfering without it first.

Hell I have painters caulk on my CR250 clutch cover fixing a crack ....

You're gonna regret using it when you have to pull the cover sometime in the future. Or when the next guy does.
You didn't listen to me bitch about the RTV the guy before me used on the SV?! I swear I spent an hour just picking the little bits of shit out of the crannies of that derby cover.

Ya well, when I said 'went with' I meant that I went out and bought it. Other issues I discovered today are forcing me to order parts anyway, so I am going to be patient and use an OEM gasket after all.

Any semi drying goop like hindabond will work better than a gasket and be easy to clean up.
