    Scratch question

This may seem ridiculous... But I had a friend hit my bike with a car door the other day, and it left a small ding in the vinyl...
Does anyone know - can I flatten it out? Can a professional fix it? Should do just leave it alone? (If I can...)

    Thanks again in advance!

    Re: Scratch question

You might want to try applying a bit of heat to the area and see if you can loosen up the vinyl enough to move it back into place. Gotta be careful doing this however, as you might create air bubbles if too much heat is applied.

    Re: Scratch question

Agreed. Use a hair dryer and always keep moving it around so the heat isn't applied to only one concentrated area. I would first use my fingers to try and caress the bubble out. If that doesn't work then a flat headed screwdriver wrapped in paper towels may do it.

Rarely do I agree with Pete's opinion, so take this as confirmed.

    Re: Scratch question

Verbally berate them and then make them replace your whole fairing. Your bike will be fixed and you'll have one less friend thats not carefull opening their doors. Problem solved lol

Where is the dent are you talking about the little like 3/16 bump looking thing directly up from the tail of the r? It barely is even noticable in the pictures but I know how you feel and it sucks when someone else especially a friend messes up your ish. Did they offer to pay to fix it at all?
I used to store my bike at my buddies place and when I was pulling it out of the garage the exhaust can scraped the side of his tail fairing. Thankfully it wasn't too expensive a piece because I bought him a new one. His bike was pristine and I couldn't stomach leaving it with a 6 inch long gash down to the plastic on the side of it. That said it was obviously much more noticable than the ding on yours.

    Re: Scratch question

My 2011 had scratches bigger than that before I even dragged it home. And if it didn't I'd have fixed that by now.

Life's short, ride the snot out of it.

I don't know which worries me more, ridin' on the roof with Jenna driving or Big Money emptying a few clips in my direction as she drives by with me as a hood ornament?
