    Seafoam

Has anyone on here used Seafoam in their motorcycle? Is it a good product or is it just BS? What method did you use when you put it in? Website lists many ways you can use it to clean your engine.

I think putting it in the gas tank and let it clean while you drive is probably the easiest.

have not used it in the MC, but have used it on my truck....

put it in the gas tank when filling up and also used it as a 1/2 qt oil substitute.....

engine ran quieter, and after 1/2 tank or so the engine response was @ 15% better

it's like any other snake oil, it can only make a bad running motor run better, it can't make an good running motor run better

is it the best way to clean your fuels system & engine internals? who knows

sometimes snake oil is the cheapest & most efficient way

still, if parts are worn out and need replacing, it won't make them better

My son swears by Lucas Products, myself, I stuck a bottle of Valvoline fuel system cleaner in my bimmer, and noticed quite a difference, but it didn't fix my wobbly distributor (321k mi.)

Ocasionally I stick a half bottle of isopropyl in my SV, maybe 2wice a year/about 10-12k miles

I doubt it would do anything for my SV, it still performs seems like better and better all the time..... must be just getting broken in

When I was in the Concours Owners Group, lots of guys there swore by Techron. They would run half a bottle through the tank just before their next oil change.

It was supposed to clean the carbs and cylinders of deposits and make the engine run better.

I tried it once and the bike seemed exactly the same as before.

Yea thats what I've been using. I'd take the bottle that treats up to 12 gallons and put half of it in and then fill up the gas tank.

Makes no difference but it does clean the system out. A co worker of mine failed an emission test once (for his car), put a bottle of that in, ran the tank through, retested and passed.

Before you go putting any of these products into your engine google them.

A lot of them have been fined by the government for false advertising, because they were scientifically proven to do nothing at all for the engine.

But yet for some reason they are allowed to keep selling them, or they just slightly change the formulation and put it right back on the market.

I use Berryman's B12 with absolutely NO results and I love it.

NO results as in my car ran fine with zero injector or fuel issues for over 100k miles.

Put it into my 87 Chrysler with a bogging 318, and it made a difference.

I put it in the SV about once every 5k miles. I hope I get NO results from it

I run Seafoam once in a while to clean out the crud.

I used it in my taco once directly into the intake via the brake booster vac line. It smoked like a BASTARD for 3 minutes and then ran like a champ.

I use it now to clean out the residue from winter storage. Seems to work ok.

I think this seafoam stuff may actually work. I conducted an expirement with a buddy of mine.

My buddy and I both had brand new Honda 10W-40 oil (I think its like GN4 or something) in our bikes. I added the appropriate amount of seafoam into my oil, and my buddy didn't add any.

We ran our bikes for about 300 miles and then drained the oil. Upon draining the oil, you could clearly see that my oil was MUCH darker then my buddies.

    interesting........
