    showa fork help

hey, so im refreshing my forks on my track bike, and ive found a spacer thats damaged. its the steel, thin walled tube spacer that sits against the preload adjuster on one end, and the spring on the other. its actually split down the weld!

i just cant seem to locate a dealer that can get me the part, let alone a part number. i even searched the ducati parts catalog, and all i can get is the bushing that sits on the bottom of the tube to compress the spring.

the forks are from a 748 i believe....

my question is, where can i go get a steel tube that will work? maybe some hardware store or something? its 1mm wall tube, 30mm ID, 32mm OD. i can trimm it to 203mm long.

Go aluminum for trick ass light weight.

Seriously, any tubing the right diameter would be fine. Just trim it square, debur the edges and clean it up good.

    thanks for the help guys.

on another note, i might be having a change of heart trying to get this ducati front end to work on my sv....i may be better off going with a gsxr front end, if i can find a good deal.

    and the search begins.
