Simple Maintenance...

For the new-to-the-DIY-maintenance types: At some point this weekend I'll be changing my oil/filter, cleaning/adjusting/lubing the chain, maybe swapping out my coolant, MAYBE even doing my brake/clutch fluids. I could probably host a few of you types that're interested in learning how to do that stuff yourselves. You can watch & learn and/or you can bring your bike AND supplies/materials and do it along with me...

The things I mentioned are the ONLY things I'll be doing. Just some very simple, basic stuff that every owner should be doing on their own anyway. If you're interested, post up here...

This may be a stupid question but how often should brake/clutch fluid be changed. You would think they aren't really exposed to high temps (except at the caliper) why would they need periodic refreshment?

Every 2 years they should be changed. They get contaminated with water from condensation for everyday temperature changes.

If there's enough interest for another date and I can manage to squeeze it in, I'll do it another time using someone else's bike. I may even hold off on the brake & clutch and coolant for now. I do it every year anyway, so there's no real rush to get it done this weekend...
