    sprocket problem!!!

I changed my f/r sprockets and now my bike has a hard time shifting. I thought I might have put the front on backwards ,so I switched it and the same thing . also when the bike is in neutral the rear spins up,feels like the clutch is constantly grabing. I am out of ideas and patience. anyone?

    sprocket problem!!!

New sprockets shouldn't have anything to do with the symptoms you have.

Sounds like your clutch adjustment is out of kilter. You will probably have to adjust your cable so the clutch completely disengages when the handle is pulled in. As you have discovered, it is damn near impossible to shift a bike when the transmission is loaded.

Play with the cable adjustment first and then get back to us.

the bike was fine before I touched the sprocket. I never even went near any clutch adjustments.

    sprocket problem!!!

the bearing behind the case and the (washer) that was behind it was locked on the shaft also 3rd/4thgear need replacing.
so-- lesson learned. don't take off front sprocket with rear tire in the air and in gear.

Why not? Thats how I did it, except with a breaker bar. Tell your transmission to not be such a pussy.

So I'm assuming the correct way to do the front spocket is with both wheels on the ground and in neutral?

I usually don't mess with the front spocket. But it would be nice to know.

you are lucky too..that is absolutely the wrong way to do it....have someone step on the rear break or sit a 2x4 in between the swingarm and a spoke....

very $$ mistake to make...sorry to hear
