    I am!
Go to the EX500 near list and post over there. THat's where most of the EX experts and such hang out. Also check out Ex-500.com - The home of the Kawasaki EX500 / Ninja 500R - Index, some smart guys on there.

Yeah I'm on the 500 forum too. I was mainly hoping to find someone local that could possibly help.

i'm replacing them on my GSX-R. previous owner messed them up from either landing hard on wheelies or doing stoppies. I have the bearings at home now and havent had them installed yet.

Yeah when I'm home. The internet is so restricted here, I can't even get to the main place. I can only sign up for it. Can't change my prefs.

    Re: Steering Head Bearing

I've heard you put the new bearings in the freezer overnight. Use a gray gun to take the old ones out, drop in the new frozen ones. Apply some heat, and they expand right in place.

sigghh. So how do you hold the bike up since you have to tear down the whole front end? You do have to take the tripples apart right?

    Re: Steering Head Bearing

This diagram may help ya figure out what needs to come apart. The hardest part is usually knocking the races out. I take the tank off and hang my bikes by the frame, from a garage rafter, when I do this work.

Edited: can't get the diagram to work right. Go to buykawasaki.com, go to owner info and parts diagrams.

    Re: Steering Head Bearing

Hang it from the rafters and/or stuff something under the headers. I use a car ramp, its perfect hight.

A heat gun or torch is good to have to get the races out. Then use a long beefy screw driver or similar to bash them out. And yes freeze the new beerings

When I did mine I didn't either. Just stuffed a prop under the headers.

Don't be scared. Just do it!
