Cheaper. Different selection. The PR3 isn't exactly a stinker of a tire.

Note that the OP has decided on Pilot POWERS 3 (PP3) not Pilot ROADS 3 (PR3). I'm a fan of the Roads, since they can handle miles, wet, cold, dirt, and an occasional light duty track day.

I swear Michelin's marketing names are designed to confuse, between the Pilot Pure, Pilot Power, Pilot Road 2,3,4, and who knows what else. I've bought most of them and even then I have to carefully consider what I'm about to buy so I don't get the wrong one.

I have the Rosso Corsas on my Tiger, I think:

I took a slide at NHMS in the rain at turn 11. I was told this is a notorious spot, but since then, I've been concerned about street riding in the rain. Is this just paranoia?

The Road Attack 2's I had seem exceptional in the rain but I'm thinking a lot of this is in my head.

You cannot compare loudon in the wet to... anything. There are spots where even rain tires feel like they are on ice. It is a wake up call to how slippery wet pavement CAN be though. It shouldn't make you doubt your tires, but it should correct your pace out on the wet roads.

Surely you aren't riding the street like you would at NHMS, right?

Just wanted a sanity check. They don't look that different from the Road Attack 2, which I found to be excellent in rain. So must be "head trash."

I've had little experience with attacks but they were good for what I found at a track day..
Now I run Bridgestone bt016 on street and track.. Love em. I hear the bt-003 are more Trackday oriented and compare to the q3

    Re: Best Street tire

Like most things, it depends. On you, what you are riding, and how you ride it. I mainly ride daily for transport (70%), some traveling/touring (25%), and a little bit of sporty/fun riding (5%). I typically ride between 11K and 18K miles in a year. So a sport-touring tire works best for me. I have been using Pirelli Angel GTs or Metzeler Z-series tires for years, and have been happy with them. They handle well, stick well, and yet have adequate life -- I get 10-12K out of a rear, and 15-20K out of a front, typically. YMMV.
