Yes to all. I usually just dremel a - to fit my biggest impact flat head and use that and heat. A 4 lb hammer on the impact driver helps. No carpenter's hammer.

I hate Torx as well! I usually end up replacing them with allen head screws if possible.

Get some plaid ones, they hold up better than the striped ones usually.

I have had sucess by puting a good tool in the screw
then clamping the head with my biggest visegrip set on Gorilla
this distorts the head so it grips the tool

Go to sears and buy this for $18



Then, punch a divet in the center of each bolt, drill a hole using the drill bit that correlates with the size extractor you use, then heat the crap out of the wheel... move the torch around a bit (dont leave it on aluminum wheel in one place long), but don't allow flame to hit rotor...

Use extractor (I'd recommend with a tap handle).

P.S. It's torx? I thought they were allen - replace with allen (socket head if you have the clearance) and blue loctite. If you use socket head, in the event you strip them out again (hey - I know your mechanical abilities, and it could happen) you can avoid the drilling and extracting with a bolt removing kit (about 5x more reliable than extractor in above photo):

The torx bolts used by Yamaha for the brake rotors have very shallow torx slots in them. Trust me, they strip VERY easy..add a Denno in the mix, and well you see the results

if that's the case, the hand imact with the proper bit and a 3-4 lb sledge

should be how you attack it in the first place

I would just drill the hole bigger then hammer a bigger torque into it. That's how I got my hex rotor bolts out after they got stripped
