    Question Tires

I got 8K on my tires and I want to change my rear tire. Not sure about my front tire...it looks ok. You guys change them both?.

You can normally go one front to two rears

'xatcly. You may want to look hard at your front, bonebrain (that'd be me) forgets to check air preasure and usually scallops out the tire before tread wearing 'em.

Someone also mentioned tread pattern: if it is different ~ then swap both. Personally, I have run diff. treads front to rear, but I can see there could be carcass construction differences. This would translate to different response charactaristics.

8k on that bike? That's way more than I would have expected for you to get. I agree that you can often do 2 rears to one front but 8k is usually about the most (actually is more than) I usually get out of a front, too.

What kind of tires do you have on there now?

    Oh, and welcome aboard.

Shit Dan, I run 32 in the front, gets kinda vague feeling with pressure anything higher, and that friggen front will always scallop on me....What's a TLR owner to do????

Most of my rides are general group rides with an occasional back roads ride in NH. You think I should change them both?.

Without a doubt! Unless I get a nail or screw or other object in my tires, I change 'em both together every time. I've never bought into the 2 rears to 1 front ratio. 8K is a lot on any sportbike tire, other than OEM tires...

Take a close look at your front. Notice how just to the left of the centerline looks more worn than the rest of the tire? Notice how one tread is less than the previous one? Notice the uneven wear of that front?

I ALWAYS spend the extra 100 beans or so to get the front at the same time. It's worth it just to keep your season going. It's not much to pay for piece of mind...

    Tires

I have allways prefered to change both tires at the same time too.
