    Transmission Question

Ok, so the rear nut on my bike got really stuck. I got it off but in the process (while using a large breaker bar) the rear wheel rotated maybe 3-4 times while in gear. Should I be concerned with the transmission or is this an ok thing. Id always heard that this was not a big deal but recently heard this can actually cause a good bit of damage.

If you weren't using an impact gun then no worries.

    Re: Transmission Question

Am I missing something here? I can't see how using the breaker bar on the axle nut can rotate the wheel while the bike is in gear. Unless the wheel is seized against it.

    Re: Transmission Question

So basically you were making the engine turn by spinning the rear wheel?

Yeah, it's called engine braking. You do it every time you slow the bike down while riding if it is in gear.
