    Best chain for a 'Tard?

What do people run as far as chains on their racing motards? X-Ring, O-Ring, No-Ring?

Looked on SMJ and sounds like the ringed chains rob a couple of HP?

Are you fast enough to notice a couple of missing HP?

Ahhhh.....after over a year off of NESR, took about 15 seconds to get a swift kick in the nuts. Good ol' NESR.

    Thanks Dunc.

I was running the narrower 520RXO-SM joint if I remember correctly.
Clearance is always at a premium... Not sure if it made any difference, though, just figured I'd mention it.

    Thanks, Mike.

BTW - the KaTooM served me well, but I sold it to another guy that said he was going to race it a little while back.

Bought Smutty's CRF....I guess 'cause I like paying $10 a gallon for C12 and inhaling leaded fumes so my future kids can have 3 eyeballs.

I'll look for one of those 520RXO-SM Jobs for the CRF. Extra clearance Never hurts.

Yup. No rings or you'll smack the rim and tire.

Re: Best chain for a 'Tard?

I like oring and xring chains. For me they require less maintenance and last longer. I tried a higher quality non oring chain. It lasted me two rides. On my crf i had to run a did erv3 chain. It was the only 520 oring chain that cleared the engine case up near the counter shaft sprocket. The rivet heads were a bit smaller then other chains. It lasted me the entire time i had the bike and before it was on the crf it was the chain on my r6.

You can also get offset sprockets made if you're tight on tire clearance FYI.

I was comparing Jeff to a middle aged loose woman. It's a fair comparison but I admit that is not my best work.
