    Triumph owners

I own a 2002 Triumph Daytona 955i w/12K on it. Last night went to start my bike and started hard, stumbled and died and then re-fired.
Promptly threw on my saddlebags to head to VT and got about 4 miles from my house and the engine light came on and felt like someone shut the bike off for a split second. Light went out and the bike was fine again?

This happened again about 4 times in 5 miles, so I turned around and threw my saddlebags on my porch. Over the course of 30 miles the bike did the same thing about 12 times, throttle open or closed. When the throttle is closed I only see the light come and feel no change in the way the bike is running.

So have any others Triumph owners experienced this before?

    Re: Triumph owners

I have seen something like this in the sprint section of triumphrat.net. I'm trying to remember what the cause was.... I believe it was something having to do with the computer resetting or something like that. It was a while ago, if you search over there you might find it. They also have a 'Tona section

Or a dying battery perhaps...? Is the throttle surging or jerky too?

loose battery connection was the most common cause for this type of problem on T595.net back when i lived there
(and it was the cause when i had the same problem on my 02 daytona.. )
but also check your TPS electrical connection (after batt)

Don't sweat it! At least it was something simple and you didn't take it to the dealer, and then get charged $100 for them to tighten it for you!
