Re: Update !!! radiator issue.. need advise
some real good advice, thanks everyone. NO I am sure 30 times will not happen since there are only a few things. How was Costa Rica Bob? Have fun?
I will go in this order from what I have gathered from forums..
Flush system really good (couple hours and a few bucks for coolant)
Check for leaks (just time)
Fan (25 bucks ebay, thanks oreo)
Radiator Cap (here this happens) $10
Thermistat (15-20 bucks and time)
If thats not it then we are looking at a head gasket and I will have to do my first one. I HOPE IT IS NOT THE CASE!!!!!!!!
(from what i see on the net, allot of freakin money. lets hope a few hours of elbow grease and a few trial and errors will do it! wish me luck
Re: Update !!! radiator issue.. need advise
Well, I must say pretty lucky! I drained the cooant since it needed it anyways. Flushed it real good!
Then removed the radiator and hoses to remove the fan. Since the fan was siezing up, I started with the obvious.
Fan was jammed and barely moving, Like I said before it moves real easy, very light.
The fan was tight so I was messin with it not assuming it was broke. And BAM, i large rock fell out of it. Somehow jammed up in the fan.
Put it all together, and tested it a few differnt times. The fan kept kicking on with no issues.....
Rode to work today and she is fixed.
Cost me $1 for some distilled water and a couple of hours. The shop said 85 an hour just to diagnose it and who knows how that could have added up. Luv IT!
So to my previous question, Can a fan make that much differnce in heat? Sure can, BIG TIME
Re: Update !!! radiator issue.. need advise
Way to be Jeff. Love it when the fix doesn't cost you a thing.

Same thing happened to us with Annalisa's first bike. Rock got stuck in the fan in a place we couldn't see. Getting stuck caused the fan's fuse to blow numerous times until I finally spun the fan and out a rock fell.
Hopefully, you'll be all set now.

That's the language barrier for ya. I gotta hand it to ya though, Degs, you do pretty well for having English as a second language.

It did work when i messed with it but for some reason it took effort. I have no idea where the rock was. I am also confused, but it's fixed... :)

I've had a fan on my 2000 Triumph Sprint RS disintegrate on me. I was having the exact same kind of problem that jtryz described, to a "T". Next thing I know, the fan blades and motor were no longer as one.
If the rock damaged the fan, replace it, and I bet your problem goes in the trash can with the old fan. I'm sure I had "F.O.D." (foreign object damage) on my fan that eventually caused it to go out-of-balance and self destruct.
