Using Tires with Different Speed Ratings

    Hey everyone,

I need to put a new front tire on my bike to get it inspected, and I just put a new rear on (an Avon AM26 Roadrider). My new rear tire is a "V" rated tire, but tire choice is so limited for my Interceptor due to the awkward sizing that I've found only 1 suitable new front which has an "H" rating. Can I use the "H" in the front and the "V" in the back? I noticed that the "H" is rated to go up to 130mph, and my bike tops out around 120, not that I'm riding it that fast anyway.

    thanks,

    P

ya as long as you staying under the limit it should be fine. its just there so someone like myself doesn't throw it on my 600 and die when the tire rips apart at 160

lol i haven't done it but that is somewhere around the top speed, all it is is and 02 zx6r rebadged. there many videos of them hitting 170ish but when you factor in the stock speedo error its somewhere around 160

according to street bike the top speed of a 01 ZX6R (same thing) is 154mph. factor in rider weight, age, mileage, upkeep, wear and tear, skill, you are probably looking at 148-150 flat out.

eventually i'll get a gps and figure it out lol. i've had it to 145 and it wasn't showing signs of giving up. the stock pipe is ridiculously restrictive so i bet the exhaust and jet kit would get it there. buddy of mine with the same bike dynoed 96.3 hp stock then 108.3 hp with full exhaust, stage 2 jet
