    Where to get work done

Based on some chatter I'm thinking a valve adjustment is in order on the seca. Fork springs/oil may also need to be checked out/replaced as it's felt kind of soft on the front end.

Since I have neither the experience or proper tools to do it myself, would anyone in the south shore area be willing to help me out for reasonable compensation, or have a recommendation for a shop to take it to? Brockton Cycle Center is the only place I could think of, and a) I'm sure they'd be expensive and b) I'm not even sure if they do repairs.

Any tips? I'd prefer "doing it myself" with the helpful guidance/assistance of a veteran shade-tree mechanic, but barring that shop advice works too

Jim Pidgeon (the "tire guy" from this thread http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...&threadid=9813 ) also works on bikes. He can do just about anything and has been a bike mechanic for almost 30 years. I think the AMI sign in his house is dated 1978. Give him a call and set something up - he's guaranteed to be cheaper than anyone else, he knows his shit, and he doesn't mind if you sit there and watch and ask questions.

    Where to get work done

only problem is, he's super busy... i went up there a couple weeks ago to get some tires done & saw how many bikes he had in his garage... he's got hit work cut out for him

but, he was also awesome enough to do my tires for me right then & there... i was expecting him to do em when he could & i'd pick em up later in the week, but he decided to take 20 minutes out of his busy schedule & put aside the project he was working on at the time so i wouldn't have to make the trip from Boston back up to Manchester NH another time. needless to say i gave him a nice tip

but since you're on the South Shore, i dunno if you wanna make the trip all the way up to Manchester NH... take a peek at this thread
