Air filter or oil? lots of times there is a auto equivalent to the oil filters that you can get at any auto parts store.

Why don;t you just head out today real quick before all the dealerships close (unless all of them near you are already closed)

oil filter for sure. . .maybe air, I haven't seen the condition yet.

My plan is oil change, battery install, check tires/brakes. . . and check the overall condition of stuff. It's a V-star 650 and I know very little about it.

How about Wal-Mart?

They stock all the major Fram bike filters.

According to this chart, you should be able to use the FRAM oil filter CH6004

go to advanced auto parts in Northbridge....they should have the oil filter....
it must be your lucky day....i have 2x brand new plugs for the vstar 650.....pm me if you want it.....i live in Grafton

yeah, but while he is at the shop he can probably cross reference it with the other ones that they have. maybe a nice purolator or something

The CH6004 is a cartridge filter, not a spin-on, if memory serves. It'll be just fine.
