    Wrench Teachers?

So my question is this. Who hear would be willing to teach me some things about wrenching on my bike. I wanna start basic so I know how to do whateevr it is I need to do. Obviously if someone has the right tools thats a plus.

ive got about 2k on my bike and I would like to perform the next oil change and stuff. anyone local to Gardner, or fairly close who is willing to take some time and teach me? We could come up with some form of compensation if you like.

we were in different groups but the few chances I got to talk with him and the things I heard him say were helpful. Its no wonder his TLR is in great shape as he has no time to ride what with fixing everyones bike and all.

If you're interested in learning some riding technique too sign up for Tony's two day september trackday. We'll be doing seminars for a few different things on the bikes and I'd be more than happy to personally show you around your bike after that.

And we will have a stellar demo bike for at least one of the seminars, possibly with a nice new paint job

to add to this, I want to get all of the proper gear first, need pants, long gloves, and boots. before I can afford a track day.

+1 I bought all my gear new then found out about the wera boards and realized how much I could have saved on some used gear. Also check ebay for some things. I got a pair of sidi vertebra boots used one day for $200.

+1 for getting proper gear rather than rushing into it!

im just more comfortable getting the proper gear. once I get that Ill do a track day with my bike, its not like I need to use all 1000cc's to learn better techniques. I just want to make sure if I mess it up, I can fix it up too. Place ill need some help with race prep, guess that fits in with my origianl thread.

Joe thanks for the Web site. im going to check it out. You have proved yourself quite useful for someone who lives in the dirty burg!

I too could help ya if you get stuck, Been working on American bikes for a few years.(Buells/Harleys) Just starting to play with the others bikes now as they seem to have cought my interest. I am no track guru at all. But am looking to get some time in as soon as funds allow for some good gear. I have some...just need more. I got the sportbike bug.....I love speed in the corners like most do here.

A service manual would be your best friend for learning....

Dont even get me started on the service manual that I was promiseed 4 times that I never got. I put my slip on pipe on myself but that was fairly easy (even though it turned in to a project)
Sounds lame but I even want help just changing my own oil to start so Im comfortable with it, and making sure I have the right tools to do it.
Joe Gardner sucks, and im just busting on you.

i just learned by doing....reading online....and wingin it. esp when taking things apart, just think about it logically and remember how to put it back together....and dont lose bolts lol.

and using this board as a resource is huge, between asking questions or for actual help....or searching for info.
