So, still don't have Internet out here in the VT woods, so I'll be very breif on my iPhone. I entered the weekend on the pole in all three races, and points leader in all three...and then as racing does, I was humbled. Im certainly not unhappy with all the results, but the faster laptimes and W's have once again eluded me. Cliff notes: gtl, DNF Lwgp, 3rd Lwsb, 2nd
Gtl: DNF, washed the front in t1 after hitting "the bump" on the brakes. Smacked my head pretty good, barrel rolled half a dozen times, and jacked up my ankle. I was leading and having a great battle with the quick #900 Jane Kennedy. This really bummed me out and kinda stuck in my head all weekend. Out lap of 1:23 and best lap of 1:21.3
Lwgp: got myself and the bike fixed up in time...I was off my pace, jane checked out, bill cool squeezed by, and i barely held off #276 Shane Lewis for 3rd place. A red flag saved me from gassing out. No crazy laptimes. Overall, I was happy to still bounce back and podium, and I really needed a beer.
Lwsb: didn't get as good of a launch this time, and entered t1 in 3rd. I can't remember the pass, but I was able to get on #900's tail once again, chasing her till the end for 2nd place. I realized after the race Lou peck was right on my tail...I caught a glimpse of his wheel a few times, but I'm glad I didn't look back to discover how persistent he was being! He was knocking on that door for sure!
Ends up I had a couple torn ligaments in my ankle from my asphalt surfing, and a sprained wrist. No wonder I was screaming in pain in my helmet the last two races!! I'll be licking those wounds till we meet again in August!
Loved hanging out with all the LRRS family, it's an awesome experience every time . Thanks to my wife (aka nurse Jen), and team Low Down Racing, for all of the support and laughs. Also have to thank Dunlop tires, Street and Comp, and Land Air VT for their support of my racing endeavors!
