Only scheduled one race on the CBR1k to keep my place in the championship.
Saturday:
UNGP - Doucette was on his SV on full rains. I was on the CBR with DOTs with 4 races and 2 track days on them haha. He said he was only going out for 2 laps to get points and was then pitting in. I said I was doing the same because of wet conditions. After doing the warm up lap there was a dry line that was pretty well formed so I said screw it and decided to stay out the entire time. Got the holeshot going into T1 and kept Doucette behind me for 2 laps until he pitted in. Kept my head cool and finished 1st clinching my 2nd place in the championship.
I didn't have to race UNSS to stay where I was in points, but I finished out that race 3rd in the championship.
Sunday:
Practice:
Only had motard races.
LWSB - Got a good start from the back row and picked a few people off before T1. I worked my way all the way up to 8th place until the 4th lap. When I flopped for T1A I gave it too much throttle and the front end got too light and slid right out. Before I knew it I was on my ass and sliding on the pavement. Picked the bike up and got it started but by the time I was good to go I was far out of contention. After the race all the Center garage motahd junkies informed me that it is super common for tards to crash there and that you can't give too much positive throttle input there without it doing just that. Managed to get 14th and to get down to a 1:19.5 though during the race which was a second better than what I had done in the practice that morning.
Motard - Got a friggin killer start from last place on the grid and got the holeshot. Kept the lead for the whole race with Francois Dumas right on my ass on his KTM 690. Last lap in T11 I see him on my outside and he forces me to brake or go off the track. Super pissed that I didn't defend that line as this is the 3rd or 4th time I have lost a critical position with that same move. Got 2nd and got down to a 1:19.2 though so I was happy about that.
Thanks again to Central Mass Powersports for a friggin awesome season. Never imagined that I would be on a box at the banquet and they helped along with Chris Dove to make that possible. Super psyched to be railing with the motard guys and to be part of that family. Thanks also to old man Arvidson for the bike setup tips and Block for entertainment....and....damn...all you guys are just awesome. There are way too many other people to thank for this year, but you know who you are.
