I had to work friday night so I figured I'd show up late saturday and skip first practice because it was supposed to be around 100° on saturday. Got there about 9:30 and went to registration where she said they closed at 8:30 but she'd do it for me anyway. Lesson learned, take friday's off. I only worked because I got a day of OT earlier in the week so I had to work all my regular days to still get the OT money. Get everything unloaded and go out for second practice to learn the new gearing and front brake pads I just put on. that wasn't enough practice on them to figure it all out but oh well, on to the racing.
Saturday
MWGP - 4th
Get a a very good start for me and go into T1 somewhere around mid pack. worked my way up to finish 4th with a best time of 1:23.7.66 Decent enough times and my best finish in this race so far I think.
Sunday
GTO - 2nd
Been on pole all year here. Get a better start than I did yesterday and go into T1 in 3rd. Get into a big battle with the guy in second swapping spots a couple times. I thought it was a GSXR but the only guys on them were the guy in first and couple way behind me. so looking at the results online I think he was on a ZX10 but the position comparison isn't working right now. Explains why I couldn't get by him on the gas out of turns but caught up into and mid turn. He ended up having a problem on the straight (looked like a shifter problem) handing me 2nd place. Steve (Firstduc-1098) said just before we went out to not lap him (he was in GTU that was the wave behind me). I needed about another 5-10ft to lap him Best time of 1:21.738. avg for the 20 minutes (15 laps) was 1:23.638. Very happy with this race.
MWSB - 3rd
Started on pole here cause I own it also. Got another good start, guess not being a bitch on the line and getting some revs into the engine helps you get going. Go into T1 somewhere around 5th or 6th I think. Had a good fight with frency21 on his twisty framed gixxah for a couple laps. Swapped spots a couple times then I said screw this and put my head down to catch up to third place. Got into a good battle with Chris Bouchard on a Duc 848 swapping spots a couple times. Passed him on the second to last lap and ran some defensive lines to keep him behind me and take third. Turns out the last lap was my new PB, 1:21.014, so I actually put at least a couple second gap on Chris cause his best was a 1:23.
Thanks to Corey Hildebrand for the 2nd and 3rd place trophies. Still very cool of the Experts to give away their trophies. I was really hoping for another big first place real trophy but I guess that's all over with
