Freaking hub and rotor design with no locating mechanism, and plug caps that like to pop off on their own and a catch can system with no vent to atmosphere...
Short form, came down Friday evening with my wife, setup in the very oddly empty Zip Tie Alley, and then retreated to a hotel for the evening.
Saturday, didn't bother with practice as I only had slicks. When I finally did suit up and roll out for Race 8, NV THBK I was way off my game. My first race pace grab of the front brake was with all four fingers... nearly crapped my pants on that maneuver, took me forever to get on line and up to speed as I tried to remember how the KTM ran. On the 7th lap the bike started dying when I went WOT, so I pitted in, earning a DNF.
Earned a DNS for race 10, NV LWSB, as the bike was still acting up after my first attempt at repair.
Got pissed, redid the venting and catch system, have to wait for Sunday to test...
Sunday, bike dies on WOT on the way down hot pit on my way out for practice... sonofa. Did a big nono by turning around on hot pit and coming in that way.
Pull the tank as I know it's not carb venting now, go to pull the plug and find the cap just floating. Aha! Push the cap firmly on, button on, wait for the next practice. I get about 4 laps in, same problem. In the pits I can see the cap floating again. F@*! it, zip tied it in place.
Race 1, NV GTL, bike works like a champ. Pull a 3rd despite trying to start in Neutral... Couldn't quite chase down one RSP SV... had a blast chasing him and showing the occasional wheel out of 12.
Stay on track, go out for NESR Bloodsport, aka Motard. Manage to pull of a 3rd place in Novice. Also managed to keep Martire in sight for a lap or so after he and the rest of the top expert freight train blow by, which was fun.
Times man!! Times!!

Congrats dude, on the finishes, the consistant 27's, on knowing enough to fix your bike (I'd have been lost, asking people like you for help), etc. Congrats all around. Good work.
Oh, I need to put a big thank you to all of you for pretending to be civilized for the weekend...My wife actually enjoyed herself, and mentioned she may be up for more race weekends with me thanks to you guys. Big change from the whiny ass prima donas we've put up with mini racing, everyone she met was sociable, even if you are all a bunch of testosterone spewing undersexed hornballs.

It was nice to meet your wife Josh! I can't believe you ran races 1 and 2 yesterday back to back in that heat. You looked good out there.

I was the RSP guy in GTL. That was a fun race. I could hear you but couldn't see you. You provided some damn good motivation to not slack off near the 15 minute mark....I have no idea how you did race #2 right after that. I felt like I had heat exhaustion for the rest of the day.

I'll see if I can get the vid cut down and posted from that race, I think you can gain a lil time from 11 to 12... in which case you're going to be more of a PITA to try and chase down...
And Doc you're right, I think that's why I'm standing it up a bit going up the hill out of 6. Gen noted it as well.
Josh, you looked good out there. I was watching you from the crappy placement of the T3 bleachers and it was a good show.
I was highly amused to be able to look at the expression in your eyes as you came by on every lap because they'd go fromjust before you hit your brake marker to
as you started into the brakes.
Good times!
I still feel bad for swearing like I was in front of her after I came in from the warmup lap. Glad to know it wasn't a deal breaker!
11, 12 and 12a is something I'm putting a lot of effort into working on. Last race weekend I crashed in 12a followed by a crash in 11 4 days later. I guess it got in my head a bit, lol.
Should be converted by midnight.
Sadly, no hilarious face cam.
