    Homestead Race Report

Homestead is a very cool track and I greatly enjoyed racing there. IMO it's much more worth it to drive another 3 hours and go to Homestead in December/Feb than do the Daytona races March/October.

Fast track with 4 straights (yes 4) and it's pretty darn 'safe' as well considering it's inside of a massive speedway. Has more elevation than you'd think considering it's just south of Miami. Turn 1 was WFO in 5th gear on a Ducati 900 and Turn 10 was pretty close to WFO in 5th. Pretty fun.

Word to the wise- Bring your motor. This track is all about speed and doesn't favor slower bikes even if you can out-brake and out-corner 99% of the grid. That said you can still have oodles of fun no matter what, just makes for a 'interesting' race.

    Thumbs up.

I still like my motard at Loudon. I haven't raced a 'real' bike since 2006 and it sure was different racing a 'real' bike again. Granted a bike that still has stock footpegs, the passenger seat, and a turkey pan under it.

that's my man Zambrana's home turf. No wonder he builds fast 125s. Did you see the old man down there?

No I didn't see Zambrana (have no idea what he looks like) but I did see a ton of GP bikes sporting his logo's. I knew he was the guy who did the motorwork for you (you've spoke highly of him before) so I kinda was like 'oh cool check the Z-stuff all over the place'.

I did run some laps in practice with a fast Zambrana branded 125. The Ducati 900 I was on would only pull it on the straights by a little bit.. that's a quick tiddler. We were dicing it up for a few corners for a lap or two before I finally got past and made it stick. When we were pitting in he came up by me and we were thumbs upping each other for a nice little session and it turns out it was Roadracingworld.com's Santiago Villa!

I think it's well worth the 30 hour drive
