Friday i continued my tradition of crashing in practice.. Threw the bike at the tires in 3 after having a bit to much weight on the bike over the transition. Ohh well. I didn't feel super fast in practice, felt like 25's. And i put on a new front tire. Fixed my rear-set and got a new lever.
Saturday: Practices went good, I spent some time running round with slower riders and trying (unsuccessfully) to show kid my lines. Ran some 25's in practice.
ULSB: I don't remember a whole lot about ULSB, but i remember a lot about battling with the race in front of us. There where a couple Duc 748's and an SV that where giving me a run for my money but i ended up getting in front of them all. Took the ULSB win as well as winning their race, not sure what race that was, but it was fun! I ran low 24's i think.
LWGP: There was no one in this race that was realy a threat, most of them where running in the 27 yo 29 second range. But the middle weight race ahead or us was where the action was!!
I launched into the lead of my race and started knocking on the doors of the 600 riders in front of us, got by a few of them then got into a battle with R6 i think.. Lasted for a couple laps of working from t1 to t12 to try and get him only to have a 3 mile gap build on the straight, then a gap build out of 2 just big enough not to be able to pass on the breaks. FRUSTRATING! I finally lost the bike trying to real him in in 1 to set up a pass in 1a...
I Ran a few 22's in that race with a new PB of 22.4
Gino was corner working and helped me get picked up, told me he could see in my eyes through my visor i was going down before i ever even started the turn... oh well. That was the most fun of the weekend.
Sunday, GTL:
Uneventful race, I launched in 4th or 5th, made it to the lead by the end of lap 1 and we got red flagged. Launched again and this time i tool the lead into t3, lost it up the hill due to stepping the bike WAY out sideways and loosing drive, got it again into 6 and held it till the end. Got passed some of the slower 600's on the race ahead.
I have to say the second most fun i had all weekend was watching the lightweight sportsman (or last man standing, to quote don) race. What a battle between Dan K and Smutty. Awesome! And got to see kid cartwheel a hawk down the t2/3 straight...
Great weekend, cant wait for the classic! I love this hawk!
