Race report #831 8/22

Yay, first to post in the new subforum!

Not much to say. 1 race for me, NV LWSB Race 10 Saturday. New PB of 00:01:28.062. Good launch into 3rd place in turn 1, held it for 2 laps. Finished 5th or something like that. I need to learn to pass more aggressively

Friday test sessions rained like mad. Saturday morning it rained, opened up around 10:00 and was good right up till my race #10.

As it turns out somehow the preliminary result I saw that had me in 3rd got changed at some point. I was standing around waiting to get called for the trophy and when my turn came up they called someone elses name

Not sure why, maybe had something to do with calling the race early due to rain. Anyone know how this happens?

Could have been a scoring error but it looks like your fastest lap was on lap 3 and you finished 4th in class. Maybe you saw them the other way around at first?

Nope, there was 4 other people with me that saw the preliminary result. We all double checked it because I thought I was in 5th. I'm thinking there was a lot of fast guys in the wave behind us that made it to my wave, resulting in the confusion.

I'll have to wait until the post the results to figure out what happened.

They red flagged the race because some squid who started in fifth, worked his way to first in two laps and was pulling ~15 bike lengths on the second place rider didn't check up when it started raining. Lowsided in turn 2. But I'll post more about that later. Yeah.. I feel like a shmuck.
