LRRS Round 5: Settling Down
I’ll keep this one short
Saturday
LWGP: I got a decent start from the cheap seats again. Ran the whole race in 11th or 12th place, nice and steady. I mostly ran 20s for the whole race and felt good. Right up until lap 7…… when I busted out and turned a 1:19.953. New PB and first foray into the teens. I was happy as hell. It felt like I won the race even though I came in 12th out of 19 starters. I’ll take it.
Sunday
Race 2: LWSS. Started decent again. This time I was able to make some racing passes during the race. That felt good. Finished 7th about 5 feet behind BJ Worsham.
Race 6: F40L This was another decent race. I got off the line good and kept the leaders in sight for the first lap. I managed a new PB outlap of 1:23.4. I can’t remember much about this race other than bringing home another 7th place finish.
I followed the race weekend off with two great days at Tony’s Track Days. I got to ride with my daughter both days and had a blast.
Once again I want to thank my wife Wendy for all the help and support. Nothing like hot homemade egg sandwiches on race day mornings. Thanks to Emily for being the best pit boss I could ask for. And for all the pre-race packing. You make it happen kid.
I need to shout out to my garage 2 mates Lou, Jay, Marco and Dave. You guys make it fun!!
Pic from Marco!!!
I need to thank Tony’s Track Days for the training. MTAG for the Great Pirelli Diablo tires.
