So initially I wasn't supposed to race this last weekend for financial reasons, and lack of a finished bike...but when I got to the track Adam told me I was racing. Thank god he did. I signed up for LWSM on his CRF450 tard, but didn't have any gear except boots. Clark hooked me up with the gloves and helmet, and kid hooked me up with leathers, a back protector, and warmers, just in case. First practice was freezing and CLark actually wasn't going out for second practice, so I got a practice on it before the race. Turned a 23.3 in practice. Gridded up last in 8A with 2 other tards in the LWSM race and 2 EX500's and ended up 2nd into T1 behind the 764 of Eric Paquette 764, on the CR500. I didn't actually think that I would be able to catch him, but I ended up catching him on the 3rd lap or so and made a pass on the 4th lap in T3 on the brakes. I gapped him out a little bit that lap and then started to relax a little. Little did I know it was a little too much.... I blew turns 6 and 7 2 laps later and he gained back a lot of the ground that he had lost. I had it in my head that I should put my head down a run another fast lap, but I continued to pussyfoot by way around the track. On the last lap I looked behind me and saw him right behind me coming out of 12A. He had an awesome run coming out of that corner and beat me at the finish line by about 4-5 feet. AWESOME race. Could not think of a better way to end the season. And I set a new PB of 1:20.9. Again, thank you to ALL of the people that have helped me not only this race, but the whole season.
