    Beginner gear

Looking for some beginner gear if anyone has some extra stuff they don't need. Mainly a helmet, of course. Red would be nice.

Or if anyone recommends any places to shop that would be great too.

I'm in Wakefield. I'm 5'9, not sure what my arm/shoulder lengths are.

I've got a really old textile jacket and a few pairs of street leather gloves in the closet somewhere. You are welcome to both for free. Be warned though, they are well worn but mostly still functional.

If I were you, I'd spend the $$ to get a new helmet you can trust. And get a good one. They will last.

    Re: Beginner gear

I would definitely spend money on helmet, boots and gloves. No point skimping there--you just end up wasting money on stuff you won't wear again.

Cycle gear in Woburn is pretty close to you and has a decent selection of helmets. I'd stay away from the house brand and go with a Shoei, AGV, Arai, or Bell, whichever fits your coconut best.

I have a size 42 kobe leather one piece suit I'd let go for cheap and some practically brand new matching gloves. I'm 5'8 and 150, the height is right but I'm not stocky enough for the suit or gloves.

Jacket looks nice, how much did you want for it?

I'll head to cycle gear to look at pants, gloves, and helmets. If I don't see anything good I'll message those of you who offered gear. Thanks everyone.

Just fyi... don't buy bilt anything. It's garbage. You'd be better off buying used gear instead.

Officially Cycle Gear will tell you it's not a house brand but they manufacture exclusively for Cycle Gear. Same shit though.
