would really like to get some video. anyone got a go pro or similar camera set up that i can borrow for the weekend?
im already thinking about renting one of those GPS data logger to bring with us.

Have you looked at the video from one of the HD keychain cameras? They're $40 plus a memory card, and are so small some folks are mounting them in their helmets, behind the visor. You charge the battery and download the video via USB.

I have one and I'm going to try to hook it up next to a ContourHD to compare head-to-head. Except the Contour isn't charging the battery for some reason....

Got an 8GB card for the ridiculous overkill and future proof "what else can I use this for" factor for all of $14 from NewEgg. Done for $55 where I was gonna blow ~5x that for a go pro.

The PO of my bike mounted what I believe is a tourtech GPS dash on the bike and ran USB power, presumably for a GPS. Some velcro on the dash seems like a perfect mounting spot for this thing. And the USB power might work.

You probably got one of the ones that does 640 or 720x480 - standard def. Not the HD ones.

The $37.95 one is advertised as a "#11" and is supposed to shoot decent 1280x720 (720p). Read all about 'em here.

I have a ContourHD, currently $146.95 on Amazon.

It stopped working, off warranty. No repair or trade-in option: they suggested buying a new one. $146.95 is kind of steep for about five uses.

It's also 102 grams versus 20. But whatever floats your boat. Just trying to give the OP another option.
