did not even notice the kicker was off in the before pic
but man you did some fun build stuff quickly...how did you lift the rear?
like all of your threads, it makes me want to start washing down and restoring something

yeah, kicker was off a bit but it’s also a little bent, i’ll fix that as well.
there is a usual list of mods for these bikes so pretty quick to grab what i need and edit. for the rear lift i used a shock extender that goes on the end of the shock shaft. i also increased preload a bit by moving snap ring in a notch.

the PO did a shitty job drilling front of air box for more flow so i have a new box on the way along with some UNI 1” vents and a set of Boyesen reeds.
might shorten the silencer a few inches tonight. really impressed with drilling the core tube and wrapping. the intake is louder than the exhaust now.
Visiting MA right now and this is perfect crisp fall woods weather too :hellyeah:
Now with that rear - don’t you need a higher rate spring to hold up the weight? I thought that the extender you have would’ve just changed where the seat sits but nothing about how the rear is dampened. May still bottom out?
i wish it was a nice crisp fall ... it's been nothing but rain with events cancelled and areas closed due to flooding :( can't even mini on our yard track or woods, it's a swamp.
yes, a KX60 shock would be the better route, stiffer spring with more preload options, but i haven't found one yet. i'm not jumping this thing so one step stiffer with the preload ring + height adjustment is pretty damn good in the rear for reg yard tooling. for the forks, i will up the oil level and weight. that should be all i need for my ~180lbs riding it.
this PW will go to my 6 year old end of next season so i will revert all of that to make it lower and softer again for him ... then the 4yr old will take the PW50, i'll sell the Oset 12.5R he's currently on and hopefully find an '87 XR80R for me.
Yeah I spoke too soon, flight left an hour before the white stuff flew
Stud her up and maybe it can also be a cheap iccceeee bike?
