Hi. I've been looking for a working/running less than 800cc for $800 maximum on craiglist recently. Standard to sport version prefered. Drewski (newer member on this board) needs a cheap learner bike. I don't care about years or mileage as long as it's titled, with as little mechanical issues as possible. I'm hoping someone on this board may have some leads. Thanks for looking.
$800 is going to be a tough one. good luck! if you do find one though, let me know that would be a good deal.
Yeah, $800 would be tough unless you plan on doing a lot of TLC.
I found a few that I was hoping I could talk them down....or even find out if they are worth it. Not sure how much or hassle would be involved to get them up to spec.

I thought you already had a red and white bike?

I doI am looking for my husband (this guy here)>http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/.../56534-hi.html
Am thinking of selling the (1992) GS 500 and getting a FZ6. Chain and tires have ~2000 miles on them, as does the valve adjustment. 19,000ish on the odometer. I rode it to work today. Not super pretty, but a great starter and no plastics to mess up.
It is a 1992 with a rejet and freshened suspension and paint.
You would be the 900th owner. Actually I bought it off a PhD candidate at MIT last year.
I want $1200, but maybe there is negotiation room.
edit: pic in the gallery. And on the front page for now.

I just sold my sisters 92 GS500 for $1000. That would have been perfect for ya.

Selling that Aerostich, too. It is a 40L. Maybe as a package?
