They all do it...you need to give it a bit of gas hold it a tad under 2k for a few seconds and then let it idle down..mine does it, my buds 05 and my other friends 05 too. The PC will smooth that out, the surge in the rpm's also and they say to kick the idle down a bit from factory..I'd do a BMC street air filter, PC...and -1 +2 gearing and it will be a Diff bike..

PC is easy to do also plug and play....4 injectors pwr ground....done

Does it have the TPS wire you have to tap into like the 600's? We put one in my buddys bike and it was a pain in the ass, i hate those splice connectors. I had the my 750 +2 in the rear and it was way better than stock, im just worried doing it to a 1k would be bad news...

Yea, it taps or piggy backs the TPS wire and isn't a big deal at all. The gearing is a must...because the stock gearing gives it some lag in the higher gears kinda is a pig in a roll on...gear it -1 in the front and then hold off, do +2 in the after if you need a bit more.. but run a good quality steel front...they do have a lot of HP so......and don't do a chain just throw it on there. I went +3 in the rear and love it.....
