    Size L riding gear

My son is taking the MSG course in 2 weeks. He is 6’2, 190 lbs, which is a size L for most brands.

Looking for textile riding gear in good used condition.

Something like Olympia Airglide would be ideal but there are many others that may suit.

    Thank you

    Re: Size L riding gear

I've got a bunch of stuff in my basement since I can't ride anymore. Joe Rocket jacket (mesh with rain liner and vest), Arai helmet and Kevlar pants (though those would probably be too small - waist is 32"). I can't be more than 10 minutes form you. I can dig it out and send pics if you want. All size L.

    Re: Size L riding gear

If Bonk's stuff falls through, let me know. I have several jackets and a couple pair of pants I don't ever plan to use again. I'm 6-3 200, so it would be similar to your son.

EDIT: Good call Bonk, I have some sz 13 boots depending on his hoof dimensions.

    Re: Size L riding gear

I bought a nice textle jacket two years ago on clearance, IXS brand, zipout liner, nice features, never used it, implulse buy, tags still on it -- should fit -- $75.

Labeled XL but IXS run small-ish, it fits me like my AirGlide L fits me.

Also, a Tourmaster Transition jacket, older in red, frayed here and there but OK condition, liner mising -- free.

    You know the way.

Also pair of TCX dual sport boots worn a few times ... size 10 as I recall

Was just about to post these FS ...

Whatever is convenient for you. Pics probably a good place to start.

His waist is 32 but he may still be growing.

Let me know if that falls through. I also have a ton of stuff in size L. In Salem, MA. All would be free.

Edit: 22 Pairs of Gloves, 3 Jackets, 1 Pair of Overpants

Still have most of this stuff, and some other stuff.

    Re: Size L riding gear

I’ve got used Olympus air glide stuff in gray that should fit except for a 36 waist pant that I’ll give him for free.

No damage except sun damage of the reflective piping.

Thanks very much everyone for the response.

I’m leaving Friday for TTD weekend and won’t be back until Monday evening so this is slow roll.

Worth noting how great the response was to get a new rider some gear. Great work all!

Once I move in August/September I could see if my old Dainese leather stuff fits him?

    Yes, terrific!

I’ve been gathering up all our “extra” gear as well. But 22 pairs of gloves is some sort of record!

For the record, we were expecting to pay for the gear. I was budgeting for 1/2 new price of AirGlide stuff.

Is there a Cycle Gear near you? You can usually find some good deals there. You may have to sift through the shittier stuff, but I've gotten a decent item or two from them and it's still decent quality.

And buyer beware: they sell a good deal of gear that's unisex (is it still okay to say that???). And wouldn't you know it, most of the unisex stuff has the zippered enclosures on the "other side". Good if you're a lefty, not so much for the righties.

Glad to do it, I hope he puts a lot of miles on the gear without ever having to "need" it like you did ;>)
