    Cheap bike

Looking for a cheap starter bike for my girlfriend. Emphasis on low seat height and cheap. Ideally I'm thinking 250 or 500 Ninja. I'm seeing about 10 of them on CL for under 1500 but ideally I would like to buy from someone local (bandofriders, nestreetriders) to support a fellow enthusiast. Not real worried about the condition of plastics, tires or cosmetics. Mostly just that it starts and won't leave wifey stranded.

    Re: Cheap bike

If I ever get the damn title for my 02 600 Katana I will be putting it up for sale that day. It was a nice cheap way for me to noncommittally invest in a bike and now that I'm convinced I am just hoping to get around a grand for it as I know I won't recover what I actually have I to it.

Thanks Jim for mentioning it, it's been sold already....not to 01xj, never been contacted by him about the bike. A new member on here is the happy new owner.

I think if you look into it the EX500 seat is kinda high compared to a GS500.

    Re: Cheap bike

Friend of mine has a 1996 GS500, mint, that he is looking to part with. Purchased from another NESR member a couple years back.

Carbs have been sync'd, valves adjusted, both tires are fresh with an extra brand new tire for the back. Also comes with the book, spare front brake pads and a couple other little things. It's clean, reliable and nice looking. Red.

It is a turn-key and ride bike. He was looking to get a bit more, but I bet I can get him to $1500 for it since it is getting near the end of the season.

If you are interested, let me know.
