theres a company on ebay that offer tire warmers for $160.00 there single temp warmers that cycle but they (so far) work real good . are available in 180 of 190 rear size and the normal size front. they seem to be a chicken hawk knock off, i have no clue how long there gunna last but for 160 bucks it was worth the risk and they do work good so far

buy a trackday for the same money. if you arent racing, they aren't truly necessary. this is only my prenovice opinion.

    Re: Tire warmers.

I have a used Chickenhawk set that I bought used and used for 2 seasons.
They work very well - some brown burn coloring from a race I forgot to unplug them for, but just cosmetic.
They're in decent shape, but work perfect. Just trying to offload some stuff that someone would use (instead of pretending I'll race again someday)

$100 or b/o - try them for a weekend and if not satisfied, just let me know - PM me if interested - thanks

    Re: Tire warmers.

The past few weekends we've had several folks asking to borrow (mostly fronts) warmers, as their warmers from other brands have shit the bed (no idea what brands). You can spend short $ on a no name eBay brand or get someone reputable. I've used both Woodcraft's and Chicken Hawk Racing's with success, and our CHR rental sets take a beating and come back for more!

They're a little pricey at $380, but I love my Woodcraft dual temps.

... with that said, I don't even bother touching them during a track day.

    Re: Tire warmers.

Once you get em up to temp for the first session (which you rarely need full "stick" for anyway), there's often not enough time between sessions for the tires to cool down.

That's $380 EACH, right? So, over $700 for the set?

Really? I might have to look into that then.

Their site doesn't list different rear tire size options. Are they available for the 160 rears?

I have two sets of Woodcraft dual temps, what I like about them is the safety plug that turns them off when you take them off, unlike the chicken hawks, which I see people burn up all the time from leaving them plugged in.

They are the same size for 160 and 180 since I use my sets on both...

I run the same tires at track days that I race on. I just don't think warmers are necessary at a track day.

The NUMBER ONE PURPOSE of warmers is to give you hot tires going into turn 1.
Do you really need that at a track day? Nope.

Oh Chuck Sorry man, but that's funny.

And the Dual Temps are "one size fits both".

    Re: Tire warmers.

i use my Woodcraft dual-temp warmers at track days. was told the Conti DOTs last longer if you keep the warmers on the tires at a low temp after your session.

like oreo said, you dont need to have ideal temps for T1 at a track day.

Chuck, as was said above, they are one size for the rear, that will work on the 160 or 180 no problem.

They're currently on backorder until the end of May, but email me at mike@goMTAG.com if you're thinking of ordering a set.
