WTB: 1999-2001 YZ250 kick starter

These things are going for like $100 on eBay...I'd rather bump start my bike for the rest of my life.

Anyone got one sitting on a shelf? Just the splined part would be fine too.

You should see what Yamaha wants for them new... The knuckle itself is $54 new OEM.

Yeah I saw that. I must be a cheap ass. I keep expecting a used one to be like $10

IIRC in 2002 Yamaha went to a smaller OD kickstart shaft and matching kick lever. This shaft likes to snap under normal use. People quickly figured out that retrofitting the older shaft + case cover + kick lever netted them a setup that didn't need periodic replacement and as such snap up the older bits whenever they can, driving the cost up on used stuff from that year range.

Yeah, my bike is actually a 2002 with the smaller shaft, but after a myriad of changes, I now have a shaft from a 2000. Never had an issue with the smaller shaft though.
