WTB Cheap commuter car for gf

since I start the new job on Monday the girl needs to get a car on her own.
I am scanning CL currently but was wondering if any members here have something they want to sell.

The cheaper the better. Ideally <$1500
Must be able to pass MA inspection, must have title.
Dont care if it doesnt have radio, power windows, or fancy stuff.
Solid engine, working lights would be great.

Commute is 8 miles each way.

You looking for anything specific? My buddy has a 1995 Corolla he is trying to sell right at that price range. Less than 60k miles. Currently titled/registered/inspected. Drove the thing myself a few times too...runs great. Only problems with it are minor cosmetic things (front door handle chipped off due to the winter last year, cup holders don't fully retract, etc...).

My GF has a 2004 Camry with just over 100K. New tires, brakes, and a bunch of other things. She's had it since 2006. The trade in is $2,500 so as long as she can walk away with that I'm sure she'll let it go.

Will do. It's not banged up, but does have its share of scratches from her kids. Can use a good cleaning inside but is otherwise solid and reliable.

My sister just moved to CA and my parents are selling her Corolla. It's probably late '90's-early 2000's. Gold in color, probably about 120k, auto. New starter. I believe it's always passed inspection, but I'm thinking it has a small crack in the windshield, but I could be wrong.

It's not actually for sale yet, but it's available if you want it. It's in Cohasset and right in your price range.

Careful with 98-02 corollas....to achieve the gas mileage #'s they made undersized pistons with oversized rings...and since rings are weaker than pistons they wear out and start burning oil...a lot... you'll start driving really low without any symptoms and it'll lock up. Top up often...

I recommend 98-02 camry
